Thus if you are sure that you like AI and Data Science then make it your first criteria. But if you are confused but you know that you want to go for IT and programming career then I would recommend you to go for CSE. ECE have nothing bad but the industrial sectors are not that much of CSE and as most of the students don't get core field jobs in ECE then they have to move to IT with lower salaries.
