Mang, you have a decent profile of 9,7,7 which is gonna help you all throughout your MBA starting from selection procedure to the final placements. Unfortunately, 8 months work experience is not enough to add up any value to your aggregate score but still the things you have learnt you can use them to show your knowledge and rive the interview.
After CAT exam every IIM prepares a merit list to call students for next round of interview and WSAT based on your aggregate score which comprises of many parameters such as CAT marks, 10th, 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non-engineer, gender whose weight varies for all different IIMs. On an average academic record and work-experience has a weightage of 15-30%. As you have a good profile so it will help you go up on the merit list. After the second round again a new merit list is made on the basis of other aggregate scores which also includes the marks of interview and WSAT.
This 9,7,7 profile is very important as most of the companies for internship and placements shortlist candidates on the basis of the academic records. So, for completing MBA it's really important to have a very good profile.
All the best!!
