According to RGUHS regulations, if you fail again in your supplementary exam for the first year BDS even after passing two major subjects, you will not be able to proceed to the second year and will have to repeat the first year entirely because you did not clear all the required subjects within the stipulated time frame.

Carry-over system limitations:

While RGUHS allows carrying over one subject to the next year, if you fail more than one subject, you need to clear all the failed subjects before moving to the next year.

Repeat the entire year:

If you fail in the supplementary exam, you will have to re-enroll in the first year and retake all the subjects again.

Check with your college:

Always consult your college authorities for the most updated information regarding examination rules and regulations.

Hope this is helpful to you!!

Hello,

If you fail again in the supplementary exam after passing two major subjects (2 out of 3) in your first year BDS program at RGUHS, Karnataka, you may still be able to progress to the second year. Generally, universities allow students to advance as long as they meet the minimum requirements for passing major subjects.

Hello there,

In RGUHS, Karnataka , to be promoted to the second year BDS , you must pass all three first-year subjects:

  1. Anatomy
  2. Physiology & Biochemistry
  3. Dental Anatomy and Histology

If You Fail the Supplementary Exam:
  • Even if you pass two out of three subjects, you cannot proceed to the second-year final exams until all first-year subjects are cleared.

  • However, you may attend second-year classes while preparing to clear the remaining subject(s).

    Suggestions:

  • Focus on clearing the remaining subject in the next available attempt.

  • Utilize guidance from faculty and structured revision plans to improve performance.

Clearing all subjects is crucial for timely completion of your BDS course.
