If you are interested in fishing and fish catching then you can choose your fisheries career.India holds seventh position in the world's fish exports and is the world's fourth largest fishery producer. There are many career or jobs prospects in government and private sector.Aspirants can go into their own fisheries-related business for entrepreneurship or self-employed employment. You can see the government has fisheries department in every state or country where you can apply for various posts.Eligible candidates can even do jobs in central government agencies such as the Marine Product Export Development Authority (MPEDA), India 's Fisheries Survey (FSI), NIO, WHO and many more. The field of Fisheries & Aquaculture offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The Fisheries Science degree is a degree in science, you must have studied science with biology till class 12.

Some of the degree courses offered are :

B.Sc. (Aquaculture) – duration of the course is  3 years

Bachelor of Science (Industrial Fish and Fisheries)  this is also 3 years duration course

B.Sc. (Aquaculture) – 3 years

Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc) – This course is of  4 years duration.

After that you can go for doing Masters degree in the corresponding degree.

Coming to salary, Salaries in this sector rely on the specialization you are picked for. Private sector salaries can start from Rs 2.5 – 3LPA. Government salary  packages are different from private sector salaries. Fisheries professionals can get an average  pay of Rs 3 – 5 LPA depending on education and experience.

bachelors of science in fisheries is an undergraduate course , whose duration is of 4 years consisting 8 semesters , in this course you are going to study about biology and physical sciences , study of fish , ecosystem , food habits, diseases occuring in them etc. , the basic eligibility criteria to get admission for the course B.Sc fisheries is candidate must have passed their 10+2 from recognized board with science stream and  candidate must have secured a minimum aggregate of 50 percent marks in 12th class , after completing such course you may get job in various areas like fish farming consultancy, aqua culture sector , agriculture sector,meat processing companies and some of the job recruiting are marine product export development authority (MPEDA) , fisheries survey of india (FSI) etc, average salary will be range in between INR 2 to 20,00,000
