Correct Answer: 8
Solution : Total work = 40 × 18 = 720 units Work done for 8 days by 40 men = 320 units $\therefore$ Remaining work = 720 – 320 = 400 units 400 units of work are done by 50 men. Thus, the remaining work is completed in $\frac{400}{50}$ = 8 days Hence, the correct answer is 8.
