Hello Aditya,
Congratulations on the CAT score! You have done well.
As for your query, Yes you can hope to get into one of the IIMs!
But you also need to consider other factors which play an important role in your selection in any of the IIMs. CAT cutoff 2018 depends on various factors which include:
1)the total number of test takers
2)the difficulty level of the exam
3)the total number of seats available, etc.
Candidates appearing for CAT exam must qualify the sectional cut off as well as the overall cutoff in order to get shortlisted for the next rounds of the CAT selection process. Please also note that each IIM shortlists candidates for the second stage of selection which may be independent of each other. The process may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). Performance in CAT 2018 examination is an important component in the admission process. IIMs may additionally use other factors like the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, gender and academic diversity and other similar inputs in short listing and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process. The processes, academic cut-offs and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters may vary across IIMs. CAT is conducted every year by IIMs on a rotational basis for admission MBA/PGDM course offered by IIMs and other top B-schools in the country. The list of candidates shortlisted for the next level of selection will be made available on the website of the respective IIMs. Each IIM will send interview letters to the shortlisted candidates directly. The criteria for shortlisting vary across IIMs. Please visit the admission websites of respective IIMs for further information. As mentioned on the official website of CAT.
Next, If a candidate is shortlisted for interviews by any IIM, he/she must comply with the following eligibility verification:
1) Mark Sheets and Degree Certificate
2) Reservation Category Requirements
3) Candidates in the Final Year of Graduation (If shortlisted for interview, candidates appearing for the final bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification examination must show an original certificate from the Principal/Registrar/Director of the university/Institution certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD category) based on latest available grades/marks. Also, you must submit an attested copy of the original certificate at the time of interview.)
According to your score, you sure cleared the sectional cut-offs for some IIMs. For example- Cut off for IIM Ahmedabad for general category is 70% in all sections which you already scored but as I mentioned it also depends on other factors looking at that you have a low score in XIIth that could make your selection difficult. Since you haven't mentioned which category you belong and that does play an important role because of that cutoff varies accordingly. I'd suggest you be hopeful and for an idea about which IIMs you can get, Check this article on CAT cut off 2018 [https://bschool.careers360.com/articles/cat-cutoff]
