Correct Answer: 18 km/h
Solution : Let the speeds of A and B be $a$ km/h and $b$ km/h respectively. When moving on opposite sides, relative speed = (a + b) km/h. When moving on the same sides, relative speed = (a – b) km/h. According to the question, (Using: Relative speed = $\frac{\text{Relative disatnce}}{\text{Time}}$) $a + b = \frac{15}{\frac{1}{2}}$ ⇒ $a + b = 30$ -------------------------------------------(1) Also $a – b = \frac{15}{2\frac{1}{2}}$ ⇒ $a – b = 6$ ---------------------------------------------(2) By solving equation 1 and equation 2 we get, $a$ = 18 km/h and $b$ = 12 km/h So, the faster of the two travels at a speed of 18 km/h. Hence, the correct answer is 18 km/h.

Question : Two places, P and Q, are 162 km apart. A train leaves P for Q and simultaneously, another train leaves Q for P. They meet at the end of six hours. If the former train travels 8 km/h faster than the other, the speed of the train from Q is:
Question : A car starts from point A towards point B, travelling at the speed of 20 km/hr. $1\frac{1}{2}$ hours later, another car starts from the point and travels at the speed of 30 km/hr and reaches $2\frac{1}{2}$ hours before the first car. Find the distance between A and B.
Question : The distance between two places A and B is 140 km. Two cars $x$ and $y$ start simultaneously from A and B, respectively. If they move in the same direction, they meet after 7 hours. If they move towards each other, they meet after one hour. What is the speed (in km/hr) of car
Question : Two motorists start together to travel to a certain destination, one at the speed of 4 km/h and the other at the speed of 6 km/h. Find the distance travelled by them (in km) if the motorist travelling at 4 km/h arrives half an hour after the other motorist.
Question : Some students went on a field trip. At a speed of 6 km/hr, they travelled by bike for 2 hours; then at a speed of 2 km/hr, they walked for another hour; then they rested for an hour and had lunch for half an hour; then at a speed of 1 m/s, they walked for an hour to visit
