Correct Answer: INR 42,000
Solution : Given: Monthly incomes of A and B = 8 : 5 Monthly expenditures = 5 : 3 Savings of A and B = INR 12,000 and INR 10,000 Let the income of A be $8x$ and B's be $5x$. We know that, Income – Expenditure = Savings According to the question, $\frac{8x - 12000}{5x - 10000} = \frac{5}{3}$ $⇒24x - 36000 = 25x - 50000$ $⇒x = 14000$ The difference in incomes between A and B $=8x - 5x= 3x$ $= 3 \times 14000$ = INR 42,000 Hence, the correct answer is INR 42,000.
