It depends on the colleges.. Majority of colleges mainly takes Science stream Students . Well, An Arts Student also can go for GNM course after class 12 th with some specific subject combination.
To get admission in GNM courses , the following eligibility criteria needs to be satisfied :(for Science stream)
- Should pass class 12th exam from a recognized board
- Should have scored min 50% in exam
- Subject Combination should be Physics, Biology and Chemistry

Yes you can go for GNM course being a Art student . GNM is general nursing and midwifery, it is a course of 3 years and six months who want to pursue their career in clinical nursing. The minimum eligibility for this course is 12 pass from any stream with minimum 40 percent marks in the qualifying exams .
\The eligibility criteria for GNM Course after class 12th is as follows :
The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought. 10+2 class passed with Science (PCB) & English Core/English Elective with aggregate of 45% marks from recognized board under AISSCE /CBSE /ICSE /SSCE /HSCE or other equivalent Board.
