Question : A, B and C are partners sharing profits and losses in the ratio of 4:3:1 respectively. March 31, 2023, At the end of the year B died and sold his share of profit to A and C for Rs.81,000; Rs.36,000 being paid by A and Rs.45,000 by C.
The New profit-sharing ratio will be
Option 1: 2:1
Option 2: 1:2
Option 3: 4:5
Option 4: 4:1
Correct Answer: 2:1
Solution : Answer = 2:1
Selling his share to A and C
= 36000:15000
= 4:5
A Gain = 3/8 * 4 /9 = 12/72
C Gain = 3/8 * 5/9 = 15/72
New Ratio = Old Ratio + Gaining Ratio
A= 4/8 + 12/72 = 36 + 12/72 = 48/72
C = 1/8 + 15/72 = 9 + 15/72 = 24/72
M.R = 48:24 = 2:1
Hence, the correct option is 1.
