Question : A, B, and C can do a piece of work in 20, 30, and 60 days, respectively. In how many days can A do the work if he is assisted by both B and C on every third day?

Correct Answer: 15


Solution : The work done by A, B, and C in one day is $\frac{1}{20}$, $\frac{1}{30}$ and $\frac{1}{60}$ respectively.
The work done in two days by A $= 2×\frac{1}{20} = \frac{1}{10}$
The work done by all in one day $= \frac{1}{20}+\frac{1}{30}+\frac{1}{60} = \frac{1}{10}$
The total work done in the 3 days $= \frac{1}{10}+\frac{1}{10} = \frac{1}{5}$
The total work will be done in = 3 × 5 = 15 days.
Hence, the correct answer is 15.
