Solution : Given: A boat goes 10 km upstream in 50 minutes.
The speed of the stream is 3 kmph.
Upstream speed in km/h = $\frac{10}{50}×60=12$ kmph
Let the speed of a boat in still water be $x$ kmph.
We know that,
Upstream speed = speed of the boat in still water – speed of the stream
⇒ $12=x–3$
⇒ $x=12+3=15$ kmph
Hence, the correct answer is 15.
