Correct Answer: 11,000
Solution : Let the Marked Price (MP) of the machine be INR $x$. Given: Cost Price (CP) = INR 9,000 Discount = 10% of $x$ = $\frac{x}{10}$ Selling Price (SP) = MP − Discount $=x-\frac{x}{10} = \frac{9x}{10}$ Gain = SP − CP ⇒ $\text{10% of CP} = \frac{9x}{10} - 9000$ ⇒ $900 + 9000 = \frac{9x}{10}$ ⇒ $9x = 99000$ ⇒ $x = 11000$ Hence, the correct answer is 11,000.
