A father is twice as old as his son.If 20 years ago, the age of the father was 12 times the age of the son. What is the present age of the father?

Dear Student ,

First , you try to solve the question on your own , and then look into this solution :

Let us assume, present age of son is x ,

so present age of father will be 2x. ( as per the ques.)

20 years ago.

Age of son: (x-20)

Age of Father: (2x-20)


Now according to the question :

2x-20= 12(x-20)

x= 22

present age of father = 22*2= 44 years .
