A Friend of mine got a call from iim A pgp fabm for 76.67% .NC OBC. Graduated in biotechnology.what are her chances of Converting the call
Hello, Nidhi IIM Ahmedabad is one of the rare colleges which offers the course in Food and Agri-Business Management. As IIM AHMEDABAD is one of the top B-Schools in India therefore they have a very stringent selection criterion.
In the case of FABM not much applications are received by the college this is the reason why people with less percentile receives the calls. But above all education in the relevant field always adds value to the selection chances.
For B School like Ahmedabad CAT percentile plays the major role only till the time when the person receive the call. After that the main part is the interview which becomes the deal breaker. Many hundred percentiles also did not get into Ahmedabad because interview didn't go well. Therefore, the conversion totally depends on the quality of the interview.
One major selection criterion for Ahmedabad is the 10th and 12th Score which plays the most important criteria for selection. 10th and 12th are given more priority than graduation therefore having good score in 10th and 12th with relevant graduation is a booster to the conversion chances.
To Convert the call the most important thing is to be true to the interviewer. These people are very experienced to catch the lies. Mostly one of the person is from the field of psychology, HR or a lawyer which continuously keep an eye in the student to observe if whatever is said or claimed is the truth. If your friend shows originality to the interviewer with good points being spoken, then the interview goes in your favour and you have a high chance in converting the call. It also depends on the number of NC OBC students applied for the course as well as the kind of profile they carry with us.
Lastly what matters is all the quality and originality in the interview with relevant education. If the interview goes well then there is very high chances of conversion because general category people get their calls at only 88 percentile and they convert it therefore percentile is not the criteria for conversion.
Hi Nidhi,
FABM programme- Food and Agri Business Management is a parallel programme that runs in IIM A and IIM L. It prefers candidates from Agri related field. Since IIM A convertion depends on Class 10, 12, graduation GPA, CAT score and Interview, it is not possible to predict her chance with just her CAT percentile.
IIMs evaluation process are very comprehensive. And every candidate who is given the opportunity for interview has chance to convert if the interview goes well. So your friend hass chances of conversion if she does well in interview and her academic credentials are good.
Hope this helped!!
