Dear aspirant,

According to gas law , for a particular gas at a constant temperature the relation becomes P¹V¹=P²V² .now as given

V¹ = 400ml

P² = 100 mm

V² = 1000ml ;

P¹ =??

Applying the above rule we get

P¹ = 1000*100 /400

P¹ = 250mm

So, the initial pressure was 250 mm.
