a hollow sphere does not produce electric field at any

Hello !

Let us assume that a hollow sphere is charged with charge q. The charge q is on the surface of the sphere.

Now , The electric field at an interior point P (in a sphere) distance r from the center is ,

If we imagine a Gaussian spherical surface through the point P and concentric with the given shell, we can use the Gauss theorem

E * 4 (pi) r^2 = q' / E0

where , q' is the charge enclosed by this gaussian surface which is 0 as the sphere is hollow ,

Hence , E=0.
