Correct Answer: Loss Rs. 50
Solution : A man sells two articles at Rs. 9,975 each. Total selling price = Rs. 9975 × 2 = Rs. 19950 He gains 5% on one article. Cost price of that article $=\frac{100}{105}×9975=9500$ He loses 5% on the other article. Cost price of that article $=\frac{100}{95}×9975=10500$ The total cost price is = Rs. 9500 + Rs. 10500 = Rs. 20000 Loss = Rs. 20000 – Rs. 19950 = Rs. 50 Hence, the correct answer is a loss of Rs. 50.
