A nuclear reaction must be balanced in terms of mass number . Sum of mass number of the reactants should be equal to the sum of mass number of products i.e. sum of nucleons should be preserved . This is the condition for nuclear reaction . Mass number remains same but mass change which appears in the form of energy.
