The Displacement refers to the shortest distance which is present in between the starting and the final point, and if the candidate is moving from the starting point to the semicircular point, the displacement of the person would be equal to 2r.

To answer this question, you need to understand what exactly displacement. Displacement is the shortest path between two points. When a particle completes a semi circular path of radius r, the shortest distance between its starting and ending point will be the diameter of the semi circle, which is = 2r (2 x radius)

Hence the displacement in this case is 2r and the answer will be option (c).

However, if distance had been asked, then the answer would have been = circumference of semi circle = 1/2 (2 x pi x r) = pi x r
