Velocity of platform will remain unchanged because if you consider the main and platform haulage system then there are no external torque on the system and as per the laws of rotational motion when there is no external torque on the system then the angular velocity will remain constant we need some external talk to change the angular momentum of system and in our case there is no external torque and hence angular momentum will remain constant.
