Correct Answer: $9$

Solution : Let the number be $x$.
According to the question,
$x\text{ – $\frac{3}{x}$ = $\frac{26}{3}$}$
or, $3x^{2} – 9= 26x$
or, $3x^{2} –26x – 9 = 0$
or, $3x^{2} + 1x –27x – 9 = 0$
or, $x(3x+1)– 9(3x+1)=0$
or, $(3x+1)(x–9)=0$
or, $x = 9, -\frac{1}{3}$
As per the given condition, the number can't be negative.
So, the number is $9$.
Hence, the correct answer is $9$.
