Total number of coins in pursue 1 is 9 & Total number of coins in pursue 2 is 7. The probability of getting a silver coin from purse-1 is 3/9 & the probability of getting a silver coin from purse-2 is 4/7. Now we have a 1/2 probability of getting a silver coin from any of the purse.

Thus, the probability of getting a silver coin from any of the bag is given by-

1/2*3/9+1/2*4/7=19/42

I hope this helps. Wish you a great day!
