a rod of mass m and length l is made to stand at an angle of 60 degree with the vertical. potential energy of the road in this position is
Hello!!!!
Hope you are doing great!!!!
Given mass of the rod = m
length of the rod= l
Potential energy is present at the center of the rod.So the length should be taken from the center to one of the edge of the rod,i.e l= l/2
As the angle is given,it will be x= l/2 sinθ
x=l/2 sin 30 ( since angle with the vertical is 60 ,,so the angle with the horizontal is 30)
x=l/4
Potential energy = mgx
=mgl/4
Hope it helps!!!!
