Correct Answer: 555
Solution :
Using mixture and alligation,
So, the ratio of the quantity of rice that is sold at 20% profit to the quantity of rice that is sold at 12% = 3 : 1
Now, the quantity of rice that is sold at 12% profit = 2220 × $\frac{1}{(3 + 1)}$ = 555 kg
∴ The quantity sold at a 12% profit is 555 kg.
Hence, the correct answer is 555.
