Correct Answer: 77 cm 2
Solution :
Given: Diameter = 7 cm
$\therefore r = \frac{7}{2}$
Initial surface area $=4\pi r^2 $
Final surface area $= 4\pi r^2 + 2\pi r^2= 6\pi r^2$
Increase in total surface area
$ =6\pi r^2 - 4\pi r^2$
$ = 2\pi r^2$
$= 2×\frac{22}{7}×( \frac{7}{2})^2$
$= 77$ cm
2
Hence, the correct answer is 77 cm
