Solution : Start time = 10:00 a.m.
End time = 2:30 p.m.
Speed = 40 m/s
⇒ Time = 2:30 p.m. – 10:00 a.m. = 4.5 hours = 16200 seconds
⇒ Distance = Speed × Time = 40 × 16200 = 648,000 meters = 648 km
Hence, the distance covered by the train is 648 km.
Hence, the correct answer is 648 km.
