By using the formula: $\frac{M_1×T_1}{W_1}=\frac{M_2×T_2}{W_2}$ Where $M_1$ and $M_2$ are men, $D_1$ and $D_2$ are days and $W_1$ and $W_2$ are work done. According to the question, $\frac{24×12}{x}=\frac{36×T_2}{x}$ ⇒ $T_2=\frac{24×12}{36}$ ⇒ $T_2=8$ days Hence, the correct answer is 8.
