As you know now a days NTA doesn't provides scores in percentage. From 2019, percentile is taken into account for the reflection of marks. There is total of 360 marks in which JEE main exam takes place. To touch the mile stone of 90 percentile 200 marks will not be enough. In order to be in 99 percentile category students have to bring above 325 marks out of 360 .
Hope it will help you.
Hello,
As per the last year statistics, the paper was moderate and 210 marks fetched a percentile of about 99.
However, this year, due to increased competition and more number of applicants, you can assume approx 220 marks to get a percentile above 99 , to be on a safer end.
The percentile, however largely depends on the paper, lengthy , tough or easy.
This year, everyone is also getting more time to prepare, hence you can definitely expect a good rise in competition.
hope this helps.
Hello,
Percentile is the total number of candidates who scored less than or equal marks than you. So percentile keeps changing every time so it is difficult to predict the marks with which you may get 99 percentile. The highest score scored by a candidate in a session is given 100th percentile and the percentage of candidates who score less than this highest score will be given its preceding percentile. So, it entirely depends on your individual score in each subjects, overall score, total number of candidates appeared and such factors. To get 99 percentile you need to score in between 180-220 marks. This is just an estimation actual result may change.
