After 10 th which courses are better?
Hello Sangeeth..
Thanks for contacting Careers360...
It totally depends on your interest and ability.
Science(Biology Main) - If you want to go into the medical field (Doctor, Nurse, Physiotherapist, Pharmacist, Health Scientist) , i.e., if you like to serve people and find satisfaction in helping the needy and hopeless. If you are ready to work day and night for humanity. If you like to help your family by being a medical professional. Or if you are good at memorizing skills and do not like applied logical subjects like Mathematics. Or if you want to take a basic B. Sc. degree(except Maths).
Science(Maths + Bio) - If you are good at Maths and the above case of 1. applied to you, having Mathematics can be of immense help in future wherever you go, whichever government exams you take. Also Maths helps you a lot for studying Physics, so it can help you indirectly for the medical entrance examination. If you don’t like computers and programming. But you can confidently drop Maths if you are not a big fan of it.
Science (Maths + Computer) - If you would like to have a career in engineering, if you like logical thinking, analytics, design, working of machines, technology, if you like programming, coding and if you are fond of computers. Knowing computer science and coding is of immense help these days, even an MCA and MSc. Computer Science student gets offers as software engineers.
Commerce: If you are more inclined towards the business field, public policy, national and international events and like managing events and people. If you want to be a Chartered Accountant. If you like calculations(mainly statistics). If you are not a big fan of science. If you like to do an MBA (anyone can enter but commerce graduates are often given huge advantage, engineers are the least preferred. Even engineers from IITs and NITs fight for a seat in IIM, even after having B. Tech). If you own a family business. Or if you plan for one in the future.
Humanities/ Arts: If you do not like any of the above mentioned branches and are more into social works, societal service and betterment, and would like to do something different from others. If you feel you can't handle the pressure of Science/Commerce. If you want to have a good percentage in your undergraduate study with comparatively lesser effort and then want to pursue your master from abroad.
Choose your options wisely after doing lot of research on it. This is a pivotal decision in your life. If possible, go and visit the workplaces of people in various professions and have their honest feedback. Make sure you take more than one person’s opinion from each field of profession, in order to avoid any bias.
You can be a professor in any of the above fields, after choosing the respective field.
Wish you a bright future!
