After bpt can we prefix "Dr" before our name?
Hello,
After completing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) degree, individuals are not typically entitled to prefix "Dr" before their name. The title of "Doctor" is traditionally reserved for individuals who have earned a doctoral degree, such as Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) among others.
While a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy signifies proficiency in the field and qualifies individuals to practice as physiotherapists, it does not confer the title of "Doctor." However, some individuals may choose to adopt the title of "Dr" colloquially or in certain contexts for various reasons, such as professional courtesy or recognition of their expertise.
It's important to note that the use of the title "Dr" without proper credentials can be misleading and may not be accepted or recognized universally. Therefore, it is advisable for individuals to use titles accurately and in accordance with their qualifications to avoid any confusion or misrepresentation.

Don't give false information.
No...
Physiotherapists are not allowed to portray
themselves as registered medical practitioners by
prefixing the word "Dr" with their name. If any
physiotherapist prefixes the word “Dr” with his
name, then he shall be treated as quack as
mentioned by the Hon'ble Supreme Court and all
laws as applicable on any quack shall be also
applicable on said physiotherapists who is
prefixing "Dr.” with the name and who is
portraying as the medical practitioner/consultants.
Thus, the physiotherapist by claiming to be a
medical consultant among the general public by
prefixing the word "Dr" with their name and by
running a pain and rehabilitation clinic without
sufficient registration, are committing the offence
of cheating the general public by faking certificate
of an Association to be that of a statutory body.
Also, the said persons have also committed an
offence under section 336, 417,418, 419,425,
469 read with section 471 of Indian Penal Code.
The act of the physiotherapists by running a pain
and rehabilitation clinic and treating patients on
their own without medical supervision and the
required registration with the respective councils
is dangerous to the life of the general public.

Dear candidate ,
Physiotherapists are Doctors and hence they can use the prefix Dr. infront of their name.
The Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) has released a notification regarding this. However, you need to register yourself with IAP after the completion of your course. Then you can add MIAP after B.P.T degree.
Hope I answer your question and it's helpful.
All the best!
