Hello,

BEd is compulsory for teaching in school, it isn't when it comes to university  level teaching, as you come from science background hence after graduation appear for CSIR NET as it's for science background students mainly for mathematical science, earth science, life science, chemical science, physical science. If you qualify JRF then you can enroll for your PhD program, you'll also get stipend on regular basis, and when it comes to recruitment of assistant professor then PhD is mandatory along with relevant years of experience in research, and of course if you have published your work that too add much weightage, another important thing in the world of academia is to have a consistent good academic record over the years.
