after completing class 12th from biology stream can I am eligible for Railways job, if yes then can explain about it?
Hi,
The job opening in railway is in two way :-
1. Non -gazetted level ,and
2. Gazetted officers cadre level.
The selection to first one is through -
a) Open competitive exams conducted by RRB ( Railway Recruitment Board ) in group C ( like Junior engineer, station masters, loco pilot, guards , para-medical staff like pharmacist etc, you can participate with graduation level degree.
b) Some times group D ‘ recruitment also done through RRC ( Railway recruitment cell ) at each zonal railway wise. may participate also
Second one that is officer level- recruitment is through UPSC. further there are two channels -one civil service ( any graduate can participate ) you can take civil services to enter to IRTS,IRAS,IR(RPF)S, IRPS . another engineering service exam- Civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics and communication where you are not eligible.
There are N number of ways to get a job in railways and it all depends upon your qualifications.
- Group D : Minimum qualification is 12th standard and examination is conducted by RRC (Railway recruitment Cell). You will be lowest in the hierarchy and have to do all kind of work given by your supervisors.
Designation: Helper
2. Group C : Minimum qualification is graduate and for technical post you need a diploma or degree for JE and SSE post respectively .Examination is conducted by RRB (railway recruitment board).
Update : Railway board is planning to induct SSE into group B but that will take time.
3. Group B : No recruitment for this class , internally employee from group C are promoted to group B by conducting LDCE exam.
4. Group A: Exam conducted by upsc every year for degree holders in civil , mechanical, electrical and electronics & telecommunication branch.
NOTE - Direct recruitment to SSE has been stopped from this year.
Hope this helps,
Good luck.
