Hello,
On sucessful completion of mbbs from AFMC ,the medical cadets join the armed forces medical services as commissioned officer in one of the 3 services i.e ARMY, NAVY &AIR FORCE.
On basis of merit-cum- choice 50% of the medical cadets are offered permanent commission (pc) and the rest SSC
Two types of commission is granted
1. Permanent commission(PC)
2. Short service commission(SSC)
Permanent commission is upto the age of retirement.
Short service commission is for 7 years extended maximum up to 14 years.
Promotion to next higher ranks in the cadre , on satisfactory service and fitness of the rank.
Initial montly Basic pay as per recommendations of 7th pay commission are:
On commisoning 57,800 ( it's just the initial pay it increases as the rank increases )
Ample Avenues for post graduation at service hospital and 50% seats are reserved for AFMC GRADUATES.
Scope for superspecialization.
Fellow ship in abroad and India
Opportunity to serve the nation with pride across the lenth and breath of the country.
Opportunity to serve on foreign missions overseas
Or
During admission you can have a bond by which you can withdraw from the service by paying bond money of 27-30lakhs.

There are 4 options after doing MBBS from AFMC:-
You get a permanent commission according to the merit , you chose your hospital for internship and then serve for 4 years in RMO. Then you can do your PG but you have to serve in armed force hospital.
You get an SSC and instead of doing DNB you just complete 7 years and then do PG from any institution.
You pay out and then do internship from any other hospital.
You get SSC and and then you can get DNB degree and your service time will extend to 14 years after you are free to go.
