after diploma mechanical engineering. can I get admission in aerospace
The eligibility for the lateral entry program at LPU is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (Engg.) (any stream) 3 years after 10th Or 2 years after 10+2 (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Computer Science) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST
The course equips a student to be able to effectively build and communicate the solutions crafted using learnings from basic aerospace engineering, basic sciences, mathematics, and computational skills and tools. He will have the ability to comprehend the problems and craft solutions in the field of Aerodynamics, Aerospace structure, Aerospace Vehicle design, and propulsions. He will rightly apply the associated learning for the atmospheric Flight mechanics, Jet And Rocket propulsions, Gas Dynamics, and Space Flight Mechanics for the solutions to real-world problems. He would demonstrate the ability to propose cost-effective optimised solutions for the aerospace sector using a simulated environment of Computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, and computer-aided engineering.
As per the NIRF ranking, LPU is ranked 66th among all government and private universities. As per The Times of India ranking, LPU was at no 36. The highest package offered in the course is about 31 LPA. The average salary was 4.8 LPA.
Hello
Yes ,you are eligible for aeronautical engineering after your diploma in mechanical engineering.
You are eligible for lateral entry in second year of B.E/Tech. Only a limited number of prominent colleges offer this branch of engineering including
- Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh
- Anna University, Chennai
- Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad
- Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology, Vasad- (Dist Anand) (affiliated to Gujarat University), Hindustan College of Engineering, Chennai-603103, Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Secunderabad-500011, Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology
Diploma holders can acquire degrees on clearing the exams of the Aeronautical Society of India. Students who have passed Standard XII/II PUC with physics and mathematics can enrol for a three-year course, equivalent to an aeronautical engineering course, with the AMAESI (Associate Membership of Aeronautical Society of India) Institutes, which conduct the course and make arrangements for practical training.
Good luck.
