After finishing B.tech IT what can I do MBA or any other else if MBA what is the use and job in IT companies
Hi Rohid ,
After your completion of BTech , you have generally three major options to consider to direct your career path. You can do your MTech , MBA or gain work experience by doing a job. This is a very common confusion among freshers after they complete their Bachelors degree.I will now tell you the three options separately so please read them carefully.
- OPTION 1 - MTech : Now if you think that you want to stay in the technical side of your field of study in Bachelors , I would suggest you opt for MTech. By doing MTech you will get more opportunities in R&D and other technical jobs once you complete your MTech. You can also redirect to teaching professions as well in colleges and universities if you want . Now for doing your Masters in India , you have to clear the GATE exam to get admissions in IITs and NITs and other government institutions. For doing your Masters abroad , you have to give the GRE and TOEFL or IELTS exam to send in your application in foreign universities. Some foreign universities also accept the GATE score like the Technical University of Munich and National University of Singapore.
- OPTION 2 - MBA : Now if you feel that you have gained enough technical knowledge and want to get into management roles , then MBA is the degree you should opt for. Many engineers after their Bachelors opt for an MBA and it has been seen to boost their career growth. Now for doing yiur MBA from the IIMs or the IITs , you habe to clear the CAT exam. You must have a good 10+2 and UG scores as well as a good profile to clear the interview and GDPI rounds of the B schools. Other B school entrance exams you can opt for is XAT , SNAP , CET etc. For doing your MBA abroad , you have to give the GMAT exam along with your TOEFL/IELTS. You must have good grades and must have a very good profile to get admission in the top B schools abroad.
- OPTION 3 - JOB : This is your third option. You can either do a job or open your own start up. Here I would talk about doing a job . Now since you are from the IT field, almost every big company in the world have an IT department so you might not have a problem in finding jobs. However since IT is a booming field , there is a lot of competition in this field. You can get jobs in big Tech companies like Google , Microsoft , Amazon etc. You can also get jobs in Investment banks like Goldman Sachs , JP Morgan etc. There are also IT consultancy companies like TCS , Infosys , Wipro etc. There are lots of opportunities in this field as companies are in need of more and more IT engineers.
I hope I have been able to answer your query and my best wishes to you for your future.
Thanks
Dear Rohid,
It is a common delimma with most of the students who has or are in the verge of completing their undergraduation course. Completing higher education is the need of the day in whichever area - be it MTech or MBA.
Both offer good placements and stable career with good growth prospects. While MBA is primarily for honing up the management skills needed to prepare oneself for non-technical industries, MTech prepares one to take the technical qualifications to the next level thereby preparing him for a technologically strong career.
So, it totally depends on you what kind of job you want to fit in and what will give you the satisfaction so that you can enjoy the work you are doing.
