It depends on number of candidates applied for the same college in same course under same category. Just scoring the required cut off will not confirm a seat always. There might be candidates who have scored better rank than you. Seat allotment is based on your merit, category, seat availability and preferences. So if you have decent rank then the probability of getting seat is higher in the desired college and branch.
