Ali can finish the work in 20 days.
Ali's work rate = $\frac{1}{20}$ units per day.
Avtar Singh can finish the work in 24 days.
Avtar Singh's work rate = $\frac{1}{24}$ units per day.
Ali, Avtar Singh, and Ashok together can finish the work in 8 days.
The combined work = $\frac{1}{8}$ units per day.
Ashok's work rate = $\frac{1}{8} - \frac{1}{20} - \frac{1}{24}$ units per day.
Ashok's work rate = $\frac{1}{30}$ units per day.
The number of days required by Ashok to complete the work = 30 days
Hence, the correct answer is 30.
