O.t technicians , work at operation theatre of hospitals, emergency departments as well as intensive care units.
Their task is to assist doctors in surgery, arranging, sterilizing, and cleaning surgical instruments before and after surgery.
There are 3 main formats of O.T Courses:
1. Certificate Courses
These courses could help you in acquiring key skills and obtain an entry level job in healthcare professional sector but these courses are not as valuable as degree and diploma courses.
Certificate courses last for a period of 6 months to 1 year. And admission process depends on institute some of them follow Merit Based Admission and direct admission.
Minimum educational qualification in most institutes is 10th passed.
2. Diploma Courses
If you like a shorter course , then diploma course are also job oriented.
Course consists of classroom lectures and practical sessions.
There are 2 formats of this course. One is shorter, i.e, 1 year long . Other one is 2 year long diploma course.
Admission depends on institute. Some institutes follow Merit Based admission some follow direct admission.
3. Degree courses
Degree courses are also job oriented courses.
There are number of Bsc programs related to ot technology. after completing this course you will get ' Bachelor of Science' Degree.
Degree courses are most valuable courses as compared to diploma and certificate courses.

Eligibility criteria for some institutes is that they accept class 12 passed students from any stream . Or for some institutes minimum qualification is class 12 passed with 45% in physics , chemistry and biology.
