The chartered accountant course is a professional course. After qualifying chartered accountant exams a chartered accountant becomes a member of ICAI.
in the year 2006, the institute of chartered accountants India has launched the three levels of the course:
- Common proficiency test: This course is entry level foundation course which includes the Quantitative Aptitude Test, General Economics, Mercantile laws and accounting.
- Integrated professional competence course: this course has two groups which covers the working knowledge of the core subjects.
- Final course: it is advanced level course consists of financial reporting, Management accounting, strategic financial management, professional ethics, Information Systems control and advanced auditing.
After qualifying the group 1 the students have to go for on job training period of three years called articleship. And after that the student can appear for final course.
