Am i eligible for msc in zoology at Delhi university after completing my graduation ( bsc in optometry)?

Dear Aspirant

Master of Science (M.Sc) in Zoology is a full-time two-year postgraduate course offered by the University of Delhi, Delhi.

In all the Faculties/Departments, except the ones offering inter-disciplinary or professional courses, there are two modes of admission for postgraduate courses:

  • Merit or Direct: 50% of the total intake shall be filled by direct. Admission of the students of the University of Delhi only, on the basis of merit. This mode is not available to students from other Universities.
  • Entrance: Remaining 50% of the seats shall be filled through entrance examination and Interview /Group Discussion.

Elibility criteria

A candidate must have B.Sc.  (Hons.)  Zoology  /B.Sc.  (Hons.)  Biological  Science (3 year Course after 10+2) from the University of Delhi or any other University whose examination is recognized as equivalent to University of Delhi and fulfilling other conditions of eligibility. And 55% or above marks in aggregate or equivalent grade.

The eligibility criteria for MSc in Zoology at Delhi University are:

Eligibility criteria in entrance category:

  • The candidate should have completed BSc(hons) zoology/ BSc(hons) biological science from Delhi University under CBCS or any other university whose examination is recognized as equivalent to University of Delhi  and the candidate have to secure minimum 50% marks in aggregate in it.
  • Also, the candidates who have qualified BSc (general)/ BSc (pass)/Bsc Life Science from Delhi University under CBCS or any other university whose examination is recognized as equivalent to University of Delhi and have secured 55% or above marks will be eligible. The candidates who have qualified BSc (general)/ BSc (pass), they should to have chemistry and zoology in qualifying exam.

Eligibility criteria in Merit category

  • The candidates need to have passed BSc(hons) Zoology/Applied Zoology from Delhi University under CBCS only and they need to have minimum 60% marks in aggregate.
