Hello there!

You need to fill a declaration form in order to claim the Sikh minority quota for Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Science and Research, Amritsar. The declaration form includes the certain criteria which has to be full-filled for claiming Sikh minority quota. The student has to affirm:-

1) That I am Sikh and belong to the Sikh Community;

2) That I practice the Sikh Faith;

3) That I maintain Sikh appearance , and do not cut or trim my hair;

4) That I have the word “Singh” affixed to my name;

5) That I have faith only in the Ten Sikh Gurus and Sri Guru Granth Sahib;

6) That I do not owe allegiance to any other sect or religion.

Since, there is no any mention of being a resident of Punjab, you can surely claim this Minority Quota reservation. The above information has been gathered from the official website.
