Am I eligible to appear for JEE if I have completed 12th from Jamia's school board and not CBSE ?

Candidate’s age

The upper limit for JEE Main is not specified. However, the lower limit of this entrance is that candidates must be old enough to have passed 10+2 or equivalent exams. Additionally, candidates appearing for their 10+2 exam 2021are also eligible to sit for this exam, irrespective of their age.

Qualifying exam for JEE Main

The applicants must have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination on appearing for this entrance. Students who are appearing for their 10+2 exams may also apply for this test.

Mandatory subjects

Considering that this entrance exam helps students get into B. Tech/B.E or B. Arch courses, there are a few compulsory subjects that each candidate needs to have in their 10+2 exams.

For B.Tech/B.E:

Physics,Mathematics, Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical/vocational Subject/Language/Any other subject

For B. Arch & B.Plan:  PCM is mandatory

Physics, Mathematics (mandatory), Chemistry/technical vocational subject/biology/ biotechnology/Language/Any other subject

Qualifying exam score for General category

Minimum 75% in aggregate or be in the top 20 percentile in their 10+2 examination.

SC/ST/PWD category

Minimum 65% in aggregate

The answer is yes that you can be eligible for joint entrance exam as students from any Public School Board of India can give for JEE. Mentioned below are the other eligibility details you may need to know:

  1. The candidate must have passed class 10 plus two board examination from a recognised board in India and must have scored 75% marks minimum in the aggregate.
  2. There is no age limit.

Yes you can appear in jee main

This is because

It is not mandatory to complete 12th from cbse, you can do 12th from any recognised board

And,

Jamia Senior Secondary school has its own board and it is valid/recognised dear and is a part of Jamia Millia Islamia, which is a  Central University.

Jee main eligibility criteria is given below-

-) Qualification required :- to be eligible  for JEE mains  for BE or Btech you need 10+2/equivalent qualification from a recognised board with Physics,  mathematics as compulsory subject along with anyone of Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology or Technical Vocational Subject.

-) Passing year :- one is eligible for JEE main examination for consecutive three years starting from the year of passing for 12th /equivalent examination i. e to be eligible  for JEE mains 2021 you should be either appearing for 12th board exam or equivalent  in 2021 or should have passed it in 2020 or 2019

-) There is no age limit to be eligible

-) there is no minimum percentage requirement to be eligible for JEE Main.

But yes,

To be eligible for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs one needs at least 75% marks in class 12th if belongs to General or OBC category  or at least 65% marks in class 12th if belongs to Sc or St category. For this year i. e 2021 this minimum percentage requirement of 75% - 65 % has been lifted off.
