Hello,
Not only NEET, for the preparation of any competitive exam you require coaching or not is completely depend on the aspirant. If you have good command over the syllabus then it is not necessary to join the coaching. But you need to evaluate yourself first to understand whether you need to join the coaching or not.
You can evaluate yourself considering the following factors:
First you need to be true to yourself and answer this question “Do you really have strong concept?” because it is necessary to have good concept to clear NEET. It doesn’t matter how good you are in your academics because NEET and other competitive exams are completely different from your regular exams. All the concepts are very important and not having a good concept in any one of the topics can put you in trouble. So, if you think you don’t have good concept then you should look for coaching.
Secondly Please consider your speed while solving any problem because you really require a good speed while solving the NEET paper.
Thirdly, keep a track of your scores while attending the practice tests because if you are working hard but your scores are not constantly improving then you need to look for other alternatives.
In summary, if your concepts are not clear, you don’t have the required speed to solve NEET paper and if your scores are not improving in practice tests then you should consider coaching class otherwise it’s not required.
Let’s look at the different aspects of coaching and self-study so that you can have a clear idea.
Self-study
In self-study you can follow your own methodology and complete the syllabus at your own speed. For few students this is very beneficial because not everyone can catch the teacher’s pace and methodology.
In self-study you can prefer the study material which best suits you and from which you can understand the topics more easily. But if you choose a coaching center then they will provide their own study material which may not be suitable for you.
If you prepare using self-study method then you need to learn time management and you have to be very efficient in it. Because here you will set your own deadlines and you have to constantly track your progress through mock test and practice tests.
In self-study method you are your own competitor so you need to work to enhance your performance. In self-study method it is necessary to be self-motivated and you need to be well aware about exam updates because here there is no one who will help you in it.
It is necessary to mark the topics or questions where you have doubts and you can approach anyone who can solve your doubts.
Coaching class
In coaching classes, you will get a pre-defined plan to prepare for the exams which is vey beneficial for the aspirants because they get a clear idea about how to prepare for the exams.
Coaching classes make the students aware about the all the exam updates so that students can stay updated about the new exam pattern, syllabus etc.
Coaching classes move at very fast pace so you need to keep up with the pace and if you can keep up with the speed, follow their instructions and complete the assignments with good score then there is high chance that you will be able to crack NEET with a great score.
One of advantages of coaching classes is that you prepare with other students. You meet the like-minded peoples which is a boost for your preparation. You will be able to learn a lot from them too.
In coaching classes, you will always have an advantage for solving the doubts because it will be easy for you to approach the teachers for solving the doubts. Also, you can approach your batchmates for certain doubts.
Moreover, coaching classes provide you feedback and counseling on How is your progress? In which portions you need to work? So, it is helpful for students to understand their mistakes.
If you are self-motivated and like to do things at your own pace using your own methodology then I will suggest you to definitely go for self-study method. No one can decide whether you should take coaching or not. It should be completely your decision. Coming to your question, Yes, it is possible to crack NEET without coaching but in self-study method you need to be focused and it requires time and research to succeed. So, I would suggest you to go through different aspects of coaching classes and self-study method before taking any decision.
Best wishes for your future.
Hey,
To be able to crack an examination totally depends on one's own determination and will power. Coaching only provides guidance and the path to it, rest of the hardwork you'll have to do on your own. I'll suggest you not jump to any immediate conclusion. Take one or two neet mock tests and judge your scores on the basis of that. If you find yourself competent enough and think you can do all and need no coaching then you're good to go. Else there's no harm in taking guidance and a good coaching centres to provide you enough material to ace it.
Hope this helps.
