ANM stands for Auxiliary Nursing is a job oriented course. It is related to the field of nursing and 12th standard passed students may enter the field of nursing after choosing this course. This course is a 2 years long Diploma program which ranges from 1 to 3 academic years depending upon different colleges.
- Main aim - To train students and make them capable of taking up nursing practice in rural areas .ANM Diploma holders may also work in an urban setup.
Duration
The course is 2 years long. 6 months are dedicated towards an internship in 2nd academic year.
Eligibility criteria
- With a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in 10+2 level of education is the minimum eligibility to pursue the ANM Course.
- Age limit - should not be less than 17 years of age and not be more than 35 years of age.
Educational qualifications
Candidate who wants to take admission in ANM should have passed 10+2 either from Science and Arts stream.

Admission Process for ANM
Most of the institutes give admission to candidates based on the marks scored by them in 10+2 board examination with the direct admission process. Some reputed institutes also conducts private screening tests and interviews.
Some of the Nursing Colleges also conduct entrance test after which a PI (Personal Interview) is conducted and students get admission on the base on performance in the entrance exam.
