ANNA UNIVERSITY(NIRF 9) VS NIT(NOT TOP 5)?

NIT TRICHY is the best NIT in the country and NIT WARANGAL comes 2nd best. You can’t compare these two Colleges with Anna University.

The two NITs are better than Anna University in all respects - Quality of Students, Infrastructure, Teaching, Labs, Hostels, Campus life, Job Placements, Festivals - you name it and NIT TRICHY and WARANGAL are far better.

Please remember that Job placements is not everything. It cannot be the only basis to select a College.

You should look at the Teaching, Infrastructure of Library and Labs and more importantly the intake of Students.

If you are going to be in a hostel for 4 years then you should ensure that the peer groups of Students are of your wavelength.

I would definitely advise you to stay in a hostel because that will help you to develop your life skills and evolve as a mature person.

If you are getting Admission in any of the top 3 NITS then just close your eyes and join.

NITs, especially South Indian ones have certain glamour and charisma that others don't get. This year placement stats may be low due to many reasons.
But, the reputation of NIT Warangal or NIT Trichy is far greater than Anna University.

To enter NIT Warangal/Trichy, is not walking on a piece of cake.
So, the implication is you are surrounded by people of good talent and interest. Even the vibrant atmosphere can push up your current level and make you perform over your max one.

The professors of south Indian NITs have a certain quality that they can be on par with Most of IITs. Though the local flavor is visible in NITs the quality can  easily be distinguished.
