I have read that question and the right answer should be that it is a transparent membrane and it capable of repairing itself. But yes I am not an expert in bioIogy you can confirm this with your biology teacher.

you think yourself if it didn't had power to repair itself, how come we never need to apply some cream when it gets bruised due to some dust or something.
