Yes, you are eligible to write the GATE exam even if you have multiple backlog in last sem or 7th sem. Even your Degree is extended with 1 year or 2 year, you can write GATE exam but at the time of counselling you have to pass all the subjects and show then them the provisional degree.

Hello Raja, There no such criteria of backlogs for appearing in GATE but you have not cleared the backlogs till GATE paper your application will be disqualified. Those persons who are in 4 years after 10+2 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/(OR) 3 years after B.Sc./ Diploma in Engineering/ Technology and those who are in the final year of these programmes are eligible for GATE.
