Any expert here?? I have not studied for cat since 2 months.pls tell me topics to cover in 10 days quantz/LRDI.
Finding your Target Topics:
We are speaking of the last minute. There is quite obviously next to no time to go through every Quants topic, and master them. You will have to get mentally comfortable with the fact that you are not going be completely ready for the Quants section. That time has passed. However, by strategically focusing on high weightage topics alone, you can improve your chances of a good score. This is the ONLY thing you can do at this last minute. So your first step would be to identify these target topics.
From the analysis of past few papers, it is clear that the CAT paper setters favour a particular set of topics for the Quant section. They are:
Geometry (6 7 Questions)Numbers (4 5 Questions)Functions (3 4 Questions)
In Geometry, the important questions revolve the following subtopics: triangles, circles, triangle-circle problems, polygons, coordinate geometry, solid geometry and mensuration. In Numbers, the important questions come from the following: divisibility rules, HCF and LCM, remainder theorems, base systems, factors of a number, power cycles of a number, last 2 digits of a number, etc. In Functions, you need to be familiar with concepts of domain and range, and with pattern based function questions. Getting a strong hang of these concepts in particular have served to get the maximum percentage of scores for CAT toppers in the past year CATs in the Quant section.
In addition to these high impact topic areas, you can also spend time on the following second level important topics for last minute CAT Quantitative Aptitude preparation.
Time Speed and Distance (1 2 Questions)Maxima and Minima, Inequalities, Algebraic Equations (2 3 Questions)Modern Maths (1 -2 Questions)
Pick any paper Mock Test or previous year CATs, and you will find high representation from all the topics outlined above. For your last minute prep, you should focus on these topics for best results.
I hope this will work for you.
Cheers !!
