Well, brother I'm laughing at your dilemma/your question.
Regarding placing at GOOGLE as a software developer, you need to crack their GSoC (GOOGLE summer of Code) in this their is no branch specialization, no pinter requirement, even no official technical degree is required. You should be clear with basics. So regaiding your branch or your college has very little to offer for you to get placed in Google.
Regarding Microsoft too, they have no pointer and branch restricrion, they have set of three-four rounds where they judge your coding, level of commitment, hr, techincal round, english.
Hence, I think oyu get my point, these top tech giants don't even care your college or college performance, they should belive in sheer talent. That's why they are giants!
